However, before newt fencing installation, the area must be checked for underground services. On places where permanent newt fencing is needed, it may be used in combination with more temporary forms. The best way to optimize the speed of the trapping process is by increasing the number of traps; this done by increasing the amount of internal traps. The internal or waft fences only have to endure one or two months’ exposure while the trapping process takes place. After the site is cleared of newt fencing, the internal fencing is usually removed.
